A rare and delicious treat from Laoshan Village in Shandong Province, The wild harvested leaves from the jujube date plant are picked and processed like green tea, high in antioxidants and minerals but without any caffeine. The experience starts with the fine, jade colored dry leaf and its comforting chocolatey aroma. The tea brews up thick, and brothy with notes of roasted barley, toasted rice, goji berry, buttered corn, and a mild, jiaogulan-like sweetness. Very soothing, relaxing, cleansing and slightly cooling. One of my new favorite beverages to drink in the afternoon or evening.
