After all these years, Lincang Aroma is still one of my preferred daily drinkers. This humble tea is made from an Assamica hybrid growing in Mengku area and expertly crafted in a small tea village producing something to enjoy from the moment you open the bag and inhale. Brews up smooth and thick due to the high amount of pectins in the leaf. Chestnut, umami, vegetal notes ride atop a floral sweetness that is balanced by a light refreshing bitterness. Reminds me of a Yunnan white tea with its soft buttery vanilla nuance. Brew up in a pot, gaiwan or grandpa style (my favorite way). Good for many infusions and is very forgiving of water temperature.
