I like to bring in some interesting teas for our customers to push the boundaries of our experience and this is such a tea. All of our ripe puerh teas are stored in "dry storage" which is a very stable environment for aging. This tea was very lightly pile- fermented then aged in a professional Hong Kong tea warehouse under 'wet storage' or warm and humid conditions. The result is accelerated "aging", and since this was only lightly fermented to start, the result is a lovely vibrancy, aroma and hint of bitterness that is balanced by a deep sweetness and rising rich chocolate, musky barnyard and camphor notes that spread throughout the mouth The soup has a smooth, medium body that is exceptionally clean, complex and rich with a full palette of favors, and a refreshing returning taste/hui gan. This tea gives me almost a nostalgic feeling and is very comforting- I could drink it all day. With all that said - it isn't for everyone. If you do not like aged, danky teas, you will not appreciate this tea for what it has to offer. If you are an aged Liu Bao or Liu An fan, you will definitely enjoy this tea!
